This Thursday, December 9, the organizers of the AGECOTEL exhibition presented the 30th edition of the exhibition, which will take place from February 6 to 9 at the exhibition center.
Over four days, professionals from the CHR (Cafรฉ-Hotel-Restaurant) and Food Industry sectors in the PACA region will gather to offer a complete range of equipment, products, and services.
A biennial event, the last edition was held in February 2020, just before the Covid storm, so naturally, this thirtieth edition feels like a relief for the CHR sector, which was particularly affected by the health crisis.
โFor the 2022 edition, we wish to bring a spirit of celebration, reunion, and pleasure for restaurateurs, hoteliers, bakers, fishmongers, caterers, butchers, and all other food professionals who will meet with their suppliers,โ says Alain Defils, general director of Nicexpo.
For this exhibition, which champions โconviviality and a human scale,โ 150 exhibitors and around 17,000 professionals are expected to meet, exchange ideas, buy, and sell.
In addition to the many exhibitors, several competitions will also be organized during these four days, with Chef Philippe Joannรจs, president of the best craftsmen of France in the Southern Region, serving as honorary president. The starred chef Jacques Maximin, who was awarded the title of Best Craftsman of France in 1979, will chair the jury for the competitions of this 2022 edition.
Among these competitions, the 6th World Cup of Oyster Shuckers will take place, hosted by the five-time world champion oyster opener, Marcel Lesoille.
Mercotte will oversee the โChou au fรฉmininโ contest, reserved for female pastry chefs, featuring a female jury and themed around sweet chou pastries.
The association Les Toques Brรปlรฉes will offer the competition โOne and One Make Three.โ They draw inspiration from La Fontaine’s fables and will ask candidates to prepare a first dish based on sea bass and lamb, a second dish with citrus fruits. Finally, the third dish will be made of the leftovers from their first two dishes.
