It is the opposition municipal and metropolitan councilor Patrick Allemand who is sounding the alarm:
I have just written to the mayor of Nice (copy attached) because, contrary to what is happening in most large European cities, it seems that Nice has not planned anything to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, the founding treaty of what is today the European Union.
It is all the more regrettable since the city of Nice itself has lent its name to a treaty, the Treaty of Nice in 2001.
