In certain areas of Nice, it will now be prohibited for delivery drivers to park while waiting for orders from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
After a check conducted Wednesday evening by municipal and national police, customs, and URSSAF, the city of Nice has decided to take action following disturbances caused by an increasing number of two-wheel couriers, as well as reported behavior on public roads.
And for good reason, numerous complaints have been filed for chaotic parking, noise, disregard for traffic rules, gatherings, etc. Following the checks, police also uncovered more serious issues such as social contribution fraud, identity rentals, and sometimes drug deliveries.
Christian Estrosi wanted to provide a strong response to these issues by issuing a municipal order. It is now prohibited for courier delivery drivers to park from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. outside the time necessary for delivery or order pickup.
This order applies to the following streets, in whole or in part:
Alsace Lorraine
De Paris
De Belgique
Pertinax
Assalit
Thiers
Place Saรซtone
This order takes effect today until February 1, 2022.
