OGC Nice: Several Departures Expected in January?

Latest News

OGC Nice ended the year 2021 in the most splendid of ways. The club from the French Riviera will return to the field in January, during the transfer window, when several departures could occur.

As gifts to the club’s female and male fans, the Aiglons couldn’t have done better. Despite being down at halftime, the Gym had a strong second half and turned the match around. The Aiglons succeeded in securing a 2-1 victory, thus ending their series of home defeats.

Before the match, Christophe Galtier, of course, addressed the meeting, as well as the future of several players on the squad: Hassane Kamara and Alexis Claude-Maurice. The former Lille coach mentioned the possibility of a departure for the two Aiglons.

Indeed, Hassane Kamara was not called up for this clash against Lens. When the question was posed to the coach from the Riviera, he replied, “Ask him the question.”
A response that suggests the existence of an internal conflict between the Ivorian left-back and the 56-year-old coach.
With Malvin Bard’s arrival this summer from Lyon, Kamara is now relegated to a substitute role and hasn’t started since November 7. Facing this new role, the former Stade de Reims player might consider a transfer.

Alexis-Claude Maurice also seems to be headed towards a departure, but more likely as a loan. Distanced from the field due to a fibula fracture, the Nice number 10 struggles to get back into rhythm and face the competition. Nevertheless, Christophe Galtier doesn’t seem to want to stop there with the former Lorient player:
“Alexis is going through a difficult situation. He is a victim of the competition. But he doesn’t give up, he hangs on. He works hard. We discussed his situation a few days ago. He was injured at the wrong time, and the squad was built with solutions for his position. We need to find a solution in his interest and the club’s.” A departure in January? “Yes, it’s possible. He needs to find a solution to get more playing time. He has two and a half years left on his contract; his story with Nice is not over.”

Another departure could possibly occur during this winter transfer window, that of Robson Bambu. The Brazilian, who joined the Gym in the summer of 2020, never established himself and has never been outstanding in the 23 matches played in the red and black colors.
Even though he has been injured since November, Galtier has never expressed the desire to make the Brazilian a member of his team. He could be loaned or transferred in January.
