13.5 million euros. This is the amount obtained by the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis, the city of Nice, and the communal social action center (CCAS) from European, national, and regional funds.

From the onset of the health crisis in 2020, the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis, the city of Nice, and the CCAS mobilized to implement actions to combat the spread of the virus.

They responded to several calls for projects initiated by Europe, the State, the region, and the department to finance various actions to fight against COVID-19.

These calls for projects proved to be highly beneficial: in 2020 and 2021, they obtained 13.5 million euros in funding. 9.5 million euros of this amount came from the European Social Fund as part of the European investment initiative in response to the coronavirus, 2.4 million euros came from exceptional State funds, and 1.1 million euros came from the regional health agency.

To support our actions, we sought external sources of funding. This includes European as well as governmental funding. What we have obtained so far is a true recognition of the leading role played by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the City of Nice, and the CCAS in managing the health crisis. Empowered by this support, we will continue to anticipate as effectively as possible and respond immediately to the concerns of our citizens,” stated Christian Estrosi.

These funds contribute, among other things, to the purchase of masks for the inhabitants of the metropolis, medical supplies for caregivers, and for testing and vaccination campaigns and centers.
