The EU and the Bank of Territories support the decarbonization project of Nice Airport.

The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Airport project aimed at electrifying ground airport operations aligns with the objectives of the European Green Deal. The European Union will allocate approximately 4.1 million euros in grants, while the Bank of Territories will finance up to 4.6 million euros.

The project focuses on the electrification of ground operations, which will save approximately 6,700 tons of CO2 emissions per year and contribute to reducing the environmental footprint.

Nice Airport aims for “Net Zero carbon emissions without compensation” by 2030 for its own emissions. The Cรดte d’Azur Airport ambitiously pursues two aspects of the project:

  • The installation of 50Hz outlets at 69 aircraft stands, as well as the reduction of CO2 emissions from aircraft on the ground.
  • Implementing electric charging stations. This will support the electrification of the vehicle and equipment fleet.ย
