During Ares 16, the Toulouse native confirmed all the hopes placed on him. Facing the Lithuanian Mantas Kondratavicius, an aggressive fighter who likes to push forward, Virgil Augen showed discernment by controlling him during grappling phases. He eventually submitted him in the second round to claim a completely controlled victory. The Frenchman’s record now stands at five wins with no draws or losses.
Never too far from combat sports, although initially distant from MMA, Virgil Augen has built solid experience over the years. Coming from a family of judokas, he was immersed in the discipline at the age of five before trying his hand at sambo during the difficult teenage years. The UFC in Sight
It’s decided, Virgil Augen is now into MMA. He meets Aldric Cassata and becomes a full member of the Boxing Squad. The coach has a keen eye, knowing how to spot prospects. After a few group training sessions, the young talent is invited to individual sessions. Then, after an amateur career where he joined the French team, the fighter logically ends up entering the professional circuit.
Still undefeated despite a modest record, Virgil Augen, at 25, can anticipate phenomenal growth. The plan is laid out: “In the short term, the goal is to win my upcoming fights at Ares. In the medium term, I aim for the organization’s belt and in the long term, I want to perform at the highest level.”
