A new security gate tested during the Carnival

Latest News

During the Nice Carnival, a new security gate system based on Artificial Intelligence was implemented.

Tested by the State, these new security gates originating from America are replacing traditional gates in this new edition of the Nice Carnival. These new generation gates, powered by Artificial Intelligence, have been installed in most American facilities (stadiums, schools, etc.).

The AI automatically detects risky objects but not everyday items such as phones, coins, etc. When customers pass under the gate, a red light turns on if a suspect object is detected. The machine, connected to tablets, directly shows where the object was detected. This allows agents to conduct a targeted search.

This innovation saves time and minimizes delays. A single gate is equivalent to twenty traditional gates. Indeed, 3,500 to 4,000 people can pass per hour, compared to only 300 with conventional security gates. The flow is thus faster and movements are accelerated.

This is the first phase of experimentation. These highly technological gates will be used during various major events taking place this summer in Nice, notably during the Tour de France and the Olympic Games.
