During this ceremony, the Alpes-Maritimes Department paid tribute to the volunteers of Cavigal Omnisports. Five prominent members of the club, who have contributed for many years, received the medal of youth, sports, and community involvement.
Created in 1943, Cavigal is a multi-sport club born from the merger of three associations: Casino, Victorine, and Gallia. With nearly 3,500 members spread across eleven sections, the club offers a wide range of activities, including athletics, baseball, basketball, cycling, football, gymnastics, handball, skiing, table tennis, triathlon, and recently auto-motor sports. A 12th section is reserved for former athletes of the club.
The Alpes-Maritimes Department actively supports all sections of Cavigal, enabling them to benefit from quality infrastructures, participate in competitions, and host sporting events for optimal development, often playing a leading role at the national level.
