For 19 years, it has been an essential event on the international women’s tennis calendar… on the road to Roland Garros.

The third major French women’s clay court tennis event after Strasbourg and Limoges, with a prize of 100,000 dollars, it will take place this year from May 6 to 14, 2017, at the Parc des Sports Pierre Sauvaigo in Cagnes-sur-Mer.


The Open de Cagnes-sur-Mer Alpes-Maritimes has hosted some of the best French and international players: Tatiana Golovin, Marion Bartoli, Alizée Cornet, Kristina Mladenovic, Angelique Kerber… Caroline Garcia, winner of the 2013 edition, has continued to progress since then and make her mark on the international courts.

60 tennis women from 30 countries will be present in the competition.

On the eve of the draw, the organization and the French Tennis Federation have officially awarded 4 wild cards for the main draw to:

Amandine Hesse (France)
After a great victory with the French Fed Cup team on April 22 and 23 against Spain, the 24-year-old Frenchwoman is currently ranked 219th in the world.

Fiona Ferro (France)
After reaching the semifinals of the Hammamet tournament (15,000 $) at the end of April, she will be participating for the 4th time in the Open. Aged 20, Fiona Ferro is currently ranked 197th in the world.

Chloé Paquet (France)
Currently ranked 268th in the world, she reached her first final of the 2017 season at the $25,000 Santa Margherita Di Pula in March.

Tessah Andrianjafitrimo (France)
Ranked 276th in the world, the young 18-year-old player won the $15,000 Hammamet tournament 10 days ago.
