It is with double satisfaction that I welcome the election of Emmanuel Macron.
Firstly, I am pleased with the election of a progressive candidate who brings the promise of renewing the political system and personnel, something the French people have been awaiting for too long.
Secondly, the magnitude of his victory shows that despite the economic, social, and moral crisis our country is experiencing, the National Front and its deadly program are still rejected by a large majority of our fellow citizens.
