In the middle of summer, the Université Côte d’Azur signed an agreement with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis to strengthen support for student entrepreneurship. The partnership mainly focuses on hosting projects led by student-entrepreneurs within the Innovation Hub.
Since its creation in January 2012, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis has brought together 51 municipalities and more than 550,000 inhabitants. For over 10 years, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis has continued to innovate year after year. An experimental university was created in January 2020, the Université Côte d’Azur. It is a laureate of the major national label of excellence initiative “IDEX,” which places it among the nine French “IDEX” universities with intensive research and strong international influence. Structured into innovative internal components with increased responsibilities for greater agility, the Université Côte d’Azur embraces all its missions of training and innovation to the excellence of its research.
Create a dynamic and conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem for innovation
This partnership reflects a common desire of the two entities to work closely to create a dynamic and conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem for innovation in the Alpes-Maritimes territory. The agreement provides for an active connection of student-entrepreneur projects with a network of sectoral experts, the organization of events dedicated to entrepreneurship, and access to shared workspace at the Innovation Hub for young student enterprises. With the renewal of the multi-annual “Esprit d’Entreprendre” plan, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research confirms that student entrepreneurship is a national priority.
