On this occasion, a memorial route with wreath-laying is organized at the various monuments and plaques erected in memory of the victims of this bombing.
On May 26, 1944, the districts of Riquier, Pasteur, Les Abattoirs, and Rรฉpublique were bombed by the Royal Air Force and the US Air Force, targeting the Saint-Roch railway site to prevent any traffic and disrupt the German occupation. The toll was nearly 300 dead, 100 missing, 480 injured, and 600 buildings destroyed or damaged.
