The Antoine Lacassagne Center in Nice organized a charity gala, bringing together sports and political figures, as well as local patrons, to raise funds for cancer research.
Last April 4th, the Center for the Fight Against Cancer in Nice once again shone with hope and generosity during its annual charity gala. In the prestigious setting of the National Sports Museum in Nice, an exceptional gourmet dinner and a charity auction were organized, raising more than โฌ30,000. These valuable funds will be used to propel cancer research and support the revolutionary project “Blink”, dedicated to improving proton therapy treatments.
After the resounding success of the 2023 edition, the Antoine Lacassagne Center had the honor of hosting its second charity dinner, this time dedicated to the marriage between sports and culinary art. In this Olympic year, the National Sports Museum exceptionally opened its doors to support this noble cause, thus highlighting the importance of collective commitment in the fight against cancer.
An auction marked by solidarity and friendliness
A hundred people engaged in the fight against cancer participated in this event, also marked by a charity auction. This charity auction, hosted by the auctioneer from the Boisgirard-Antonini house, was the highlight of the evening. Thirteen lots offered by artists, champions, and economic players from the region helped raise valuable funds for cancer research,
This evening of generosity and innovation helped raise an additional โฌ30,000, thereby contributing to accelerating cancer research and funding Prof. Doyen’s “Blink” project. This FLASH Proton Therapy project aims to reduce the side effects and improve the quality of life of patients, by delivering high doses of irradiation while preserving healthy tissues.
The Antoine Lacassagne Center also relied on the presence of political figures. The attendance of Eric Ciotti, Deputy of Alpes-Maritimes, and Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, helped strengthen the commitment of local authorities in the fight against cancer, thus supporting the Antoine Lacassagne Center in its noble mission.
