Prom’ Record Day: Here are all the new features coming for the 2023 edition

This is already the fifth edition of the Prom’ Record Day and it will take place on October 15th on the iconic Promenade des Anglais.

At the Musee National des Sports de Nice, the various partners of the race gathered around Stรฉphane Diagana, president of Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur Athlรฉtisme, to discuss the return of the pedestrian race made in Nice: “Since last year, in addition to being the sponsor of the fifth edition of the Promโ€™ Record Day, I have the pleasure of being the president of the club that organizes it: the Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur Athlรฉtisme, one of the largest clubs in the Southern Region, which has experienced much success this year with no less than 5 titles at the French Elite Championships, and numerous national podiums in all categories… On October 15th, it will be on the road, and what a road since it is one of the most beautiful in France, the Promenade des Anglais, that the NCAA will welcome hundreds of runners and walkers to share the values it cherishes: conviviality, solidarity, self-improvement, health, and environmental responsibility!

The novelties will first concern the Caisse d’ร‰pargne Cรดte dโ€™Azur relay, which will go from 4 to 3 relay runners to allow a greater number of teams to cover the 2,024 meters of each relay. A circuit training of 20 to 30 minutes will then be offered before My Health Prom, the solidarity walk in aid of the League Against Cancer, to introduce participants to Fit’Athlรฉ Health. The Orange Challenge of the 5 km ‘My Beautiful Promโ€™” will also give runner-collaborators from the participating companies the chance to win the precious pass to participate in the 10 km or the ‘marathon for all Paris 2024’. Finally, the Mile des Anglais and the Daily Mile Ineos will gather this year many young people aged 4 to 12, who will have the opportunity to meet the high-level athletes present for the occasion.

Olympians Honored

This year again, many notable figures will be present with no less than four Olympians and two NCAA athletes preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Olympians include Aldo CANTI, former French record holder of the 40K0KKm (Olympics 1992 and 1996); Marc RAQUIL, World Champion of the 4 X 400 m relay and World Vice-Champion of the 400 m (Olympics 2000); Stรฉphane DIAGANA, double World Champion of the 400 m hurdles, 4 X 400 m relay (Olympics 1192) and Odile LESAGE DIAGANA, world record holder of the pentathlon (Olympics 1992). As for the international athletes preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics, notable participants include Camille SERI, triple French champion (400 m hurdles 2022, 400 m indoor 2022, 2023), and Makenson GLETTY, French Decathlon champion and winner of the 2023 Decastar.

Program & Practical Information:

  • 9:00 am: Mile des Anglais: 1.609 km race for ages 12โ€“16 (โ‚ฌ10)
  • 9:30 am: My Health Prom: Fit Athlรฉ Health Circuit + Walk in aid of the League against Cancer 06 (โ‚ฌ6)
  • 9:45 am: My Beautiful Prom: 5 km race for everyone on the most beautiful part of the Prom’ (โ‚ฌ20 / โ‚ฌ17 – FFA)
  • 10:45 am: The Daily Mile: Races for children under 12 (โ‚ฌ10)
  • 11:30 am: 3 X 2024 m Caisse dโ€™Epargne Cรดte dโ€™Azur Relay: for everyone (โ‚ฌ45 / team)

Schedule and Location: Saturday from 12 pm to 7 pm and Sunday from 7 am in front of the Interparking Sulzer (103 Quai des Etats-Unis, Nice). IMPORTANT: Bib collection can be done up to 1 hour before the chosen event.
