1. La Belle de Gaza by Yolande Zauberman
They had a fleeting vision one night during the filming of M. Beautiful. One of them told Selim Nassib in Arabic that she had left Gaza on foot to become transsexual in Tel Aviv. I called her The Belle of Gaza. With my camera, I searched for her everywhere.
2. Salem by Jean-Bernard Marlin
Djibril is a young Comorian from Les Sauterelles, a tough neighborhood in Marseille. He is in love with Camilla, a gypsy from the rival neighborhood Les Grillons. When she tells him that she is pregnant, Djibril asks her to have an abortion to prevent a clan war. But the murder of a friend of Djibril, witnessed by him, ignites both territories. Traumatized, Djibril slowly descends into madness. He is convinced that a curse has befallen the neighborhood and decides to keep his child at all costs: for him, only his daughter can save them from chaos.
3. Greenhouse by Sol-hui Lee
Home caregiver Moon-Jung takes care with kindness of an elderly blind man and his wife. But when a brutal accident separates them, everything points to Moon-Jung. She finds herself having to make an untenable decision.
4. Memory by Michel Franco
Sylvia leads a simple life, structured by her daughter, her work, and her AA meetings. Yet, her reunion with Saul disrupts their lives, awakening painful memories that each had buried until now.
5. Another Life Than Mine by Malgorzata Szumowska
This is the story of Andrej, a good husband and young father, in a small town in Poland. Increasingly uncomfortable in his own body, he tries to find his true identity in a country that has transitioned from communism to capitalism in three decades. The story of someone who is forbidden to be themselves.
