This Monday, a ceremony was organized in honor of the high school students who achieved the “very good” distinction in the 2017 Baccalaureate. It is an opportunity for the city of Nice to recognize the work and efforts of deserving students.
Parents and graduates were invited to the Villa Massรฉna to receive congratulations accompanied by a diploma. In the region, only 14 graduates achieved an average of 20. Today, 268 graduates are from Nice, representing 13% of the Nice-Toulon Academy.
“You are the pride of education, the city, and France. Tomorrow will be your society, the important thing is that everyone finds their place in it,” stated Michel-Jean Floc’h, academy inspector and academic director of the national education services of the Alpes-Maritimes.
In addition to a diploma and congratulations from the city, the students receive a check for โฌ200 as a reward for their efforts. “So many professions are disappearing, but new ones are emerging. And you are already looking to the future,” expressed Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis.
Education is evolving in the metropolis, thanks to the construction of new digital campuses, including the one in the Plaine du Var. Before concluding his speech, Christian Estrosi paid tribute to the children and young people who lost their lives in the July 14 attack.
