This Wednesday, several mothers, members of the “Mum Mood” association, participated in an event by breastfeeding their children in front of the statue of David.
A dozen mothers gathered in front of the nude statue of David. While breastfeeding with fists raised, the mothers aim to democratize public breastfeeding. Indeed, this symbolic act aims to raise public awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and to promote the freedom to breastfeed anywhere and anytime.
Mum Mood, created in 2022, is the first European Forum dedicated to breastfeeding. The association offers a space of support and sharing for mothers, helping them to discover and appreciate the world of breastfeeding. Through events like the happening on the Coulée Verte, Mum Mood works to break taboos and promote a culture of acceptance and support for breastfeeding.
The main goal of this event was to send a clear message: breastfeeding is a right and a choice that must be respected and supported. By choosing a symbolic public place like the Coulée Verte and setting up in front of the statue of David, the mothers wanted to show that breastfeeding can and should take place everywhere, without shame or criticism. The next edition of the forum will take place on October 12, 2024, in Nice.
