On Wednesday, June 26, Christian Estrosi spoke about the new municipal proximity offer. It concerns the Forum Nice Nord as well as its former and future members. After a complicated period with the health crisis, he committed to a quality leisure offer at this emblematic site of the district.
The Forum Nice Nord is a building housing a socio-cultural center of 3500m2 and accommodations of 470m2. It also includes a theater with 295 seats. Since the 1980s, this Forum has been developing cultural, sports, educational, and social activities for people of all ages.
Despite this great initiative, the COVID period impacted the various activities with a drop in attendance and financial difficulties. In 2019, the Forum Nice Nord had 1138 members compared to 604 in 2022. In 2019, there were also 31 activities offered, but only 3 in 2022. Christian Estrosi had then committed to the members to maintain a quality leisure offer. It is this new municipal proximity offer that is evoked this Wednesday, June 26.
Solidarity and Support
The Forum de Nice Nord has joined the AnimaNice network as the 18th center. The AnimaNice centers offer a wide range of activities accessible to everyone, ranging from arts to music, including dance, sports, and wellness. A total of a hundred activities are offered throughout the year.
The new Forum Nice Nord, the “Maioun Dou Ray,” will focus more on cultural and socio-educational activities. Among these are guitar lessons, collective singing, urban music, rap, and music assisted by computer. Specific spaces will be dedicated to these activities. They mainly target seniors and individuals in situations of solitude to be fully attentive to them. The sports offer of AnimaNice Gorbella will be complemented by these new activities, offered at a reduced rate.
A New Breath
The leisure activities for children, organized on Wednesdays and during school holidays, will continue to be offered. Children’s shows will also be scheduled in the 295-seat auditorium. Furthermore, the 60-bed accommodation center will welcome, after rehabilitation, groups of artists and artistic residencies.
The association La Semeuse will take care of combating sedentariness among young people and will offer academic support. Other partners, such as Secours Populaire, La Banque Numérique, MJC Agora, and Le Don du Temps, will also provide support. The goal is to highlight all the associations organizing these different events.
In 2025, a new solidarity restaurant will open within AnimaNice, making it the third after those in Magnan and St Jean d’Angély. The meal price will be three euros, including a starter, main course, cheese, and dessert, all of quality. Finally, to strengthen the neighborhood’s security, a municipal police station will open this summer. Currently located at Place Fontaine du Temple, it will be transferred to the center. Additionally, renovation work amounting to 176,000 euros will be undertaken.
Open to All
Until July 7, re-enrollment of subscribers will remain the same. From July 8 to July 28, subscriptions with a commitment for the entire 2024-2025 season. Finally, starting August 26, all subscriptions will be open to everyone. All of this can be done directly on the site. Here.
