The organizers of Paris-Nice have unveiled the list of teams that will start the 2025 edition, with French cyclist Julian Alaphilippe and his new team Tudor as the guest stars.
From March 9 to 16, 154 riders will cover over 1,200 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 16,000 meters. As of today, 21 teams have confirmed their participation, while the last team will be announced soon. The 18 WorldTour teams, automatically qualified according to their UCI ranking, will be present. Three teams have also received an invitation: TotalEnergies, Tudor Pro Cycling Team, and Uno-X Mobility. The participation of Julian Alaphilippe with the Swiss team Tudor is highly anticipated. The French rider, recently transferred from Soudal Quick-Step, will seek to stand out on the roads of southern France. This choice could also foreshadow a place in the Tour de France for the Swiss team.
Two teams that had the possibility to participate thanks to their UCI ranking โ Israel-Premier Tech and Lotto โ declined the invitation. The identity of the 22nd team will be revealed later by the organizers.
A challenging and diverse edition
This edition of Paris-Nice 2025 will offer a demanding route. The riders will compete over eight stages, including a time trial and three summit finishes. This setup promises an open competition, both for climbers and all-rounders.
The Course to the Sun remains a key event in the cycling season. It will allow teams to test themselves at the start of the season, with the Giro dโItalia and the classics in their sights. Attention will be on the major teams as well as the invited formations, always ready to cause a surprise. This race will mark the return of the professional peloton on the Promenade des Anglais nearly nine months after the passage of the Tour de France last year.
