As a contribution to easing tensions, there’s no doubt we can do better!
This story of the En Nour case takes on the contours of a saga and becomes an obsession for Christian Estrosi, who has tried everything to expel the members of the association that owns and manages the place.
Logically, it’s somewhat difficult to understand why future facility needs of the neighborhood are being opposed to the religious activities of this Muslim association. Is there no other solution than to use this location? How is that believable?
Moreover, the statements from the Mayor of Nice are themselves clear evidence.
As for the accusations of lack of transparency in financing and the presence of an “S file” in the association, they remain as such until the competent authorities render a decision.
In the meantime, it would be better not to add fuel to the fire…
Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice:
“I am pleased that a decree authorizing the opening of the public inquiry for this new DUP has been signed. Such a facility is more necessary than ever in this neighborhood. I recall that the first public inquiry had already justified the need for an early childhood facility in the area.
I will not back down and will see this project through, as it is awaited by the community, which is also concerned about the lack of transparency in the financing of the En Nour place of worship. I remind you that a preliminary investigation has been opened by the prosecutor, and that a member of the associationโs Board of Directors under the 1901 law and the 1905 law is flagged with an ‘S file’!”
