As the saying goes, Wednesday means cinema. Today we present our selection of films for the week to best guide you through the dark rooms of the theaters.

1. Alien: Romulus โ€“ Fede รlvarez

The aliens are back for this August! With this ninth installment directed by Fede รlvarez, the horror saga returns to space. The story follows a group of young travelers undertaking excavations in an abandoned space station. They soon find themselves confronting the most terrifying life form in the universe… We’ll let you imagine what happens next.

2. It Ends With Us (Jamais plus) โ€“ Justin Baldoni

This romantic drama stars Blake Lively (Gossip Girl and The Age of Adaline). It is also the adaptation of the bestselling debut novel by Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us. This story explores the emotional challenges and difficult choices faced by Lily Bloom. This young woman has one goal: to realize her dream of opening a unique flower shop in Boston.

3. City of Darkness โ€“ Soi Cheang

The director of Limbo wanted a film that hits hard. Mission accomplished! In a spectacular setting, no less. The film was also presented in a Midnight Screening at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

4. Golo et Ritchie โ€“ Martin Fougerol and Ahmed Hamidi

This family-friendly comedy will take you on a moving bicycle journey from Marseille to Grigny. The friendship between the two characters is unique. Ritchie is on the autism spectrum, but for Golo, it makes no difference. So when Ritchie is dismissed from his educational center, Golo sets him a challenge. 5. Le Roman de Jim โ€“ Arnaud Larrieu and Jean-Marie Larrieu

This adaptation of Pierric Bailly’s book tells the story of Aymeric, a man who becomes the father of Jim. Although he is the baby of a former colleague, they spend wonderful years together. Until the day Christophe, Jim’s biological father, arrives… This could be the start of a drama, but it is also the beginning of an odyssey of fatherhood.
