Christmas conquers Nice: village, lights, activities, everything is there!

Latest News

After a year of (relative) scarcity due to the psychological shock that followed the July 14 attack, Nice’s Christmas Village* is regaining all its colors.

Located inside an enclosure (security measures oblige) at Albert 1st Gardens, it will be both commercial, entertaining, and festive.

Around the traditional “Ferris wheel,” you will find stands offering food products and characteristic local crafts.

Illuminations (environmentally friendly thanks to new generation LED lamps), animations, shows for young and old will be offered to the public.

The ice rink, one of the most requested attractions, will be placed behind Santa’s house at the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure, rather than at the foot of the Ferris wheel.

Other initiatives are planned, with some extending to the metropolitan area: 20 municipalities will be involved with shows and concerts specifically designed for the general public.

Squares and avenues will be adorned with decorations and lights.

The Thรฉรขtre de Verdure will be the stage for performances throughout the period.

The ski resorts of the department will take over Place Massรฉna to promote their activities to the people of Nice and visitors with life-sized decorations.

The neighborhoods will also receive animations, while a giant nativity scene, Lou Presepi, will be displayed on the square in front of the Cathedral.

Schools will also be included, thanks to the show “Panic at the Factory” presented to nearly 12,000 children.

Finally, on the cultural side, several musical concerts will be offered at the Opera, the Basilica of Notre-Dame, the Conservatory, the Thรฉรขtre Francis-Gag, and the Louis Nucรฉra Library.
