It was in front of an assembly of 130 representatives from the network heads of the regional sports movement, leagues, and regional committees of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and the 106 French federations recognized by the CNOSF, that the first general assembly of the Cros Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur was held in St Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume.
Formed by the merger of the Provence-Alpes Regional Olympic and Sports Committee (CROS) and the Côte d’Azur Regional Olympic and Sports Committee, the CROS PACA is now the sole representative of regional sports in our Region.
Many personalities representing the state and local authorities were present to attend this historic event, including Richard Miron, president of the sports and well-being commission of the Regional Council, representing Renaud Muselier, and Julien Tranier-Lagarrigue, head of the regional Sports division at DRDJSCS PACA, representing the regional prefect.
In the morning, the General Assemblies of each of the Provence-Alpes and Côte d’Azur Regional Olympic and Sports Committees unanimously approved the merger absorption treaty.
In the afternoon, the first general assembly of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Olympic and Sports Committee could thus take place.
During this general assembly, the members present praised the work carried out by the teams of the merged CROS by approving the new statutes with an overwhelming majority, with more than 97% of the votes “For” and the internal regulations of CROS PACA with more than 98% of the votes “For”.
The legal merger of the structures is now completed. The provisional governance is ensured by a transitional executive committee composed of 8 members from both former CROS.
Next deadline for the CROS Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur: March 17, 2018, during an elective general assembly where the leagues and regional committees will elect the governance that will lead the CROS’s destinies until the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.
