The redevelopment work on Riquier Boulevard began on March 3, 2025. Traffic is reduced and parking is suspended in some areas, but pedestrians can still move around.

Since March 3, 2025, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolitan area has initiated the redevelopment work on Riquier Boulevard. This operation is part of the project for the Saint-Roch neighborhood, presented in January by the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.

The objective is to adapt the public space to new uses. Four priority areas have been defined:

  • Calming traffic with the installation of raised crosswalks at intersections and a speed limit of 30 km/h.
  • Improving pedestrian safety with more visible protected crossings and wider sidewalks.
  • Greening the sidewalks and collecting runoff water to promote a more pleasant environment better suited to rainy episodes.
  • Renovating the boulevard with new materials and modernized urban furniture.

The first phase of the work began on the west sidewalk, between Place Max Barel and Rue Scaliero. This stage is expected to last approximately two and a half months.

Impacts and Practical Information

The interventions take place during the day, from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Since the beginning of the construction, traffic has been partially reduced and parking suspended in certain areas. However, pedestrian access remains available.
