Combatting the scourge of cigarette butts. This is the challenge that Noam Yaron has set for himself in an attempt to clean up public spaces.

The Water Lover Challenge returns for its third edition from September 20 to 30, 2024. The ambition is to surpass previous editions by setting an impressive goal. Collect 1,000,000 cigarette butts in 10 days. This eco-responsible initiative aims to raise awareness about water pollution caused by cigarette butts.

This action is supported by several organizations, including the Little Prince Swiss Foundation and the Loterie Romande. It is intended as a collective effort to protect the environment.

This ambitious challenge is once again sponsored by Noam Yaron. The committed eco-adventurer calls for collective mobilization in cities, forests, mountains, and along lakesides, so that everyone can contribute to this crucial cause. The challenge brings together companies, associations, schools, and even politicians, all united around a common cause: the preservation of water.

Participants are encouraged to collect cigarette butts in plastic bottles and record their collection online. To do so, visit the website: https://www.waterlover.org/
By participating, you may have the chance to be drawn for a chance to win prizes such as hotel stays.

The figures from previous editions:

  • 391,187 cigarette butts collected, the equivalent of polluting 156 Olympic swimming pools,
  • 1,004 participants,
  • 15 schools and 10 companies involved,
  • 1,258,983 people made aware of the importance of protecting water resources.
