The Mozart Institute will deploy a mobile team to offer supportive care to cancer patients. This service will be reserved for the residents of the Var, Tinée, and Vésubie valleys.
A year after its opening in Nice, the Mozart Institute is expanding its support. Residents of the Var, Tinée, and Vésubie valleys will have the support of a mobile team. Initiated by the Alpes-Maritimes Department and the Antoine-Lacassagne Center, it will provide supportive care to cancer patients directly at their place of residence.
Since its launch in September 2023, the Mozart Institute has welcomed over 12,000 people. It offers free complementary care to medical treatments: sophrology, psychological support, reflexology, adapted physical activity, and socio-aesthetics. This offer aims to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
“Leaving no one by the wayside”
Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, emphasized the importance of this expansion. “With more than 12,000 people welcomed since its opening in September 2023, the Mozart Institute has established itself as a reference in free supportive and wellness care for cancer patients and their families. After a successful initial deployment in the Var valley, at Puget-Théniers, and Guillaumes, the service is now extending to the Tinée and Vésubie valleys. Faced with the scourge of cancer, the Department is more committed than ever to leaving no one by the wayside.”
For Professor Emmanuel Barranger, director of the Antoine-Lacassagne Center, this initiative is essential. “This deployment illustrates our shared commitment to ensuring equitable access to care and improving the quality of life for patients, regardless of their place of residence.”
Since February 3, 2025, professionals from the Mozart Institute have been regularly operating in these areas. This proximity approach addresses the needs of patients who cannot travel to Nice. With this expansion, the Mozart Institute reaffirms its role as a major player in supportive care in the Alpes-Maritimes.
