A Common Commitment to the Safety of Individuals

For many years, the Alpes-Maritimes Department has been committed alongside the firefighters of SDIS 06 in risk prevention and life-saving actions.

The training of “security assistants” is part of this initiative to create a dynamic of cohesion for the collective and comprehensive safety of adults and students within the colleges of the Alpes-Maritimes.

In total, 400,000 people have been made aware since 1995.

Across the departmental territory, 6,500 students are trained in public and private colleges.

As part of the Preventive Information on Life-Saving Behaviors (IPCS), SDIS06 offers willing middle school students the opportunity to undergo “security assistant” training within their institution. Each homeroom teacher of classes from 6th to 9th grade designates 6 voluntary students as “security assistants” per class, who will be tasked with assisting teachers or members of the school’s administration during the activation of the Specific Safety Plan (PPMS).

Demonstrations of the received training will be organized and commented on by the “security assistant” students.
