The City of Nice is organizing a new event titled “Clear Out Your Room.” A garage sale aimed at families with children aged 0 to 6 years. This friendly gathering will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Parc du Ray.
Garage sales are attracting more and more people. Nearly 50,000 are counted annually across the country. Besides the great deals, it’s the interaction that people seek there. Browsing, negotiating according to one’s means, are all things that make you want to stroll between the different stands.
In partnership with the French Popular Relief, this event will bring together about a hundred families from Nice, ready to offer second-hand clothes, toys, books, and small childcare equipment. The objective is twofold: to support families’ purchasing power and to promote responsible consumption by valuing the reuse of goods. By raising participants’ awareness of the importance of reducing waste, “Clear Out Your Room” is part of an eco-friendly approach.
Reduce Your Budget Without Compromising Quality
Especially since, on average, babies only wear their clothes for two to three weeks at the beginning of their lives. This represents a substantial budget for families for a short-term investment. On average, there is a little more than €50 per month spent on infant clothing during their first year. Thus, you will have the opportunity to find high-quality clothes at reduced prices.
To enhance the day, activities will be offered by municipal structures dedicated to early childhood. A refreshment stand and a catering area will also be available for families. With an expected attendance of between 700 and 1,000 people, “Clear Out Your Room” promises to be a warm and enriching moment, focused on sharing and friendliness. And with a view to making great deals!
