The 2025 edition of the Meeting Nikaïa, held at the Charles-Ehrmann Sports Park in Nice on May 31, brought together seasoned athletes and young hopefuls. The evening was marked by notable results in various disciplines, both on track and in the field.

The evening kicked off on Friday night with the urban miles. In the women’s category, American Gracie Morris won in 4:35.39. She was ahead of French Agathe Guillemot (4:43.49) and Alessia Zarbo (4:52.15). In the men’s category, Maël Gouyette, affiliated with Haute Bretagne Athletics, won the race in 4:07.61. He was closely followed by American Wes Porter (4:08.03).

Among the Saturday events, the men’s 600 meters race saw the victory of Gabriel Tual in 1:14.01. The Frenchman, accustomed to major championships, won ahead of Eduardo Ribeiro (Brazil) and Thomas Marques de Andrade. All three signed their season’s best performance.

In the women’s 800 meters, French Agnès Raharolahy, competing with Nantes Métropole Athletics, finished first in 2:02.50, ahead of Gracie Morris who was participating in her second race of the weekend. Camille Seri completed the podium with a personal record of 2:03.88.

Promising young athletes and some surprises

In the under-18 category, Maxence Bal won the 2000 meters in 5:51.31. In the women’s 1500 meters steeplechase, it was the British Erin Wallace who triumphed in 4:02.92.

In the field events, Alysbeth Félix Boyer (Puerto Rico) dominated the women’s long jump with a leap of 6.35 m. The performance was achieved with slightly favorable wind conditions. In the triple jump, Jean-Noël Crétinoir (France) reached 15.80 m, matching his season’s best performance.

In the women’s javelin throw, Kathrin Walter (Germany) won with 57.36 m. Noteworthy is the remarkable performance of Kelys-Marie Miezan from Nice Côte d’Azur Athletics, who achieved 44.24 m, a new personal record at home.

The meeting concluded after more than three hours of competition. Despite some absentees and withdrawals, the performances were notable. Several personal records were broken during this competitive evening. All the results can be found here.
