The Alpes-Maritimes Department celebrated its brightest students at a grand festive ceremony in Nice.
There were many smiling faces, diploma in hand, on July 11, 2025, in the gardens of CADAM in Nice. The 1,379 middle school students and 939 high school students from the department who received a “Très Bien” honor were celebrated during a ceremony organized by the Alpes-Maritimes Department.
Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the department, opened the event with an encouraging speech for the students, delivering this strong message: “this honor, it’s not just a grade. It’s a promise you’ve made to yourself. The proof that you managed to work hard, persevere, and believe in yourself.”
The laureates left with the Pass Excellence 06. An electronic passport that grants them access to cultural and sporting activities.
Gift amount: €160 for middle school students, €200 for high school students.
A tangible support that shows the department’s commitment to the success of young people: “this pass is not just a reward, it’s an encouragement to continue learning, cultivating yourself, and pushing your limits”, emphasized Charles Ange Ginésy.
During his speech, the president recalled the major projects underway:
• €30 million invested in the energy renovation of middle schools (GREEN Deal)
• development of educational digital technology (SMART Deal)
• family assistance, supporting students in difficulty
• remembrance trips to Auschwitz-Birkenau to combat anti-Semitism
• and even experimented school uniforms in five middle schools to reduce tensions.
A Festive Atmosphere for Praised Efforts
The ceremony took place in a warm atmosphere, with a DJ set from AFROMAN RADIO, a saxophonist, and various activities. Photo booths were also on hand to capture the moment.
“You are proof that success is possible despite difficulties. Excellence lies ahead of you”, declared the president to the young attendees.
Charles Ange Ginésy concluded his speech by encouraging the youth to maintain a critical mindset in a world increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence: “showing critical thinking, questioning your knowledge, that’s what keeps you at a level of excellence, before quoting Montaigne: a well-made head is better than a well-filled one.”
Before wishing them a lovely summer, he delivered a final hopeful message:
“we rely on your imagination, your work ethic, your ability to imagine and achieve. I wish you a life full of meaning, passion, and commitment.”
