The Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes will open a special desk this weekend to allow Ukrainian nationals to renew their Temporary Residence Permits. Services will be available to the public without an appointment on Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23, 2025.
The Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes will implement an exceptional setup this Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23, 2025. This organization aims to facilitate the renewal of Temporary Residence Permits (TRP) held by Ukrainian nationals residing in the department. The setup concerns permits that have already expired as well as those that will expire at the beginning of January 2026.
The Prefecture announced, โthe Ukraine desk will be open this weekend at the Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes, on the CADAM site bd du Mercantour in Nice, to facilitate the renewal of Temporary Residence Permits (TRP), whose validity has expired or will expire at the beginning of January 2026.โ
The public will be welcomed without an appointment. The desks will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, continuously, on both days. Government services announce a significant mobilization to handle all arrivals. โThe reception capacity will be very significant, with a strong mobilization of state service teams: all Ukrainian nationals presenting themselves at the desks will thus be welcomed and received.โ Vulnerable individuals will receive priority treatment.
This exceptional opening responds to the need to avoid an accumulation of requests at the beginning of the year. The renewal of the TRP is a regular administrative step for beneficiaries of temporary protection. By opening the desks for two full days, the Prefecture seeks to streamline the process and reduce waiting periods.
The Prefecture invites concerned individuals to avoid arriving too early. โWe invite Ukrainian nationals to spread out their arrival throughout these two days to avoid unnecessary waiting. Arrival before 8:00 AM in front of the Prefecture is therefore not recommended.โ This recommendation aims to distribute arrivals and limit lines as soon as the doors open.
Practical Organization and Prospects
The choice of the CADAM site at 147 boulevard du Mercantour allows for managing a large volume of people. This space, already designed for welcoming foreign visitors, offers a suitable configuration for administrative procedures related to residence. Agents on site will be mobilized to receive all presenting individuals. The building had been temporarily closed for renovation work during the summer holidays.
This setup is part of the continuity of the actions undertaken since the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in the department. Administrative support is a crucial aspect of maintaining their rights, particularly access to housing, employment, and social assistance. The renewal of the TRP conditions all these procedures.
The Prefecture has already announced a second weekend of extended opening. The statement specifies: โthe next weekend will take place on January 10 and 11, 2026.โ This information suggests that this mode of organization could be repeated to absorb the flows related to the successive renewals of permits.
With this initiative, the Prefecture seeks to offer simplified access to administrative procedures, which are often a hassle. The extended hours and walk-in service aim to allow Ukrainian nationals to renew their TRP under better conditions. This operation constitutes a concrete response to needs identified over several months, in a context where services remain in demand by a large public.
