The 2025 Telethon concluded with a national total of 83,504,259 euros, marked by strong commitment and an unprecedented gesture from the godmother, Santa. In the Alpes-Maritimes, the collection reached 447,480 euros.
The thirty hours of Telethon 2025 ended with a national tally of 83,504,259 euros. This figure confirms the mobilization of the public, the field teams, the researchers, and the associative network. The dynamic observed throughout the country was mirrored in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, where all six departments contributed to the collection. In the Alpes-Maritimes, the announced amount reached 447,480 euros. A result that aligns with the continuity of actions organized in the area over the weekend.
The president of the AFM-Telethon, Laurence Tiennot-Hermant, praised the commitment of the participants: “A huge thank you to all those who accompany us in our fight with such loyalty and commitment. The first victories strengthen our resolve to fight for all the families who are waiting. We have the vision, the strategy, and we need even greater resources as drug candidates multiply. I would like to warmly thank all the teams at France Televisions, Sophie Davant, Nagui, Cyril Féraud, and all the presenters for their commitment alongside us. On behalf of the patients and families, I want to extend special thanks to Santa, an incredible godmother who made a difference with her sensitivity, creativity, generosity, and unparalleled commitment.”
A similar tone was echoed at France Televisions. Delphine Ernotte Cunci, the Chairman and CEO of the group, highlighted the importance of this mobilization: “Once again this year, the French have raised the Telethon’s counter thanks to their generosity and exceptional mobilization throughout France. A big bravo to all the AFM-Telethon teams for this new success! I also want to warmly thank all the France Televisions teams who mobilized over these 30 hours of broadcasting around Santa, an extraordinarily involved and determined godmother, to achieve new victories against the disease.”
An Unprecedented Gesture to Launch the 2025 Edition
The launch of the Telethon on Friday, December 5, 2025, was marked by an unexpected moment on France Televisions. Cyril Féraud announced live: “I’ve just been told something exceptional. It’s something that has never happened in the history of the Telethon.” The host then turned to the singer from Nice, Santa, godmother of this 2025 Telethon edition, present at his side. Calling her a “sly one,” he revealed a personal donation in the five figures. The announced amount reached 99,999 euros. A sum that moved the presenter. Also present on the set, Sophie Davant added: “We had never seen this.”
Santa explained her choice: “The 9 is the number of hope.” The donation corresponds to the profit from her last tour. “I so want it to climb, humbly, I took the profit from my tour and added my brick to the building because I believe in research.”
The next day, on the set of Télématin, the godmother revisited this gesture: “It was said on air; I wanted to do it discreetly. Yes, I humbly participated in this great cause.” She reiterated her attachment to the number 9, present in her Instagram handle @jesuissanta999.
A Zipline Descent to Support Families
Santa also marked the 2025 edition with an aerial performance. On Saturday, December 6, a zipline descent from the first floor of the Eiffel Tower was broadcast on public service channels. The jump was made in tribute “to all the everyday superheroes: the patients, the researchers, the doctors, the families, the caregivers.”
Before taking off, the singer declared: “For all the children, for those watching behind their screens and fighting against the disease: this jump is for you, and may it give you wings.” She reiterated the donation number by shouting “36 37” at the time of departure, holding the Telethon flag.
This edition occurred in a context marked by new medical advancements. The AFM-Telethon reminds that 95% of rare diseases remain without treatment. The collected funds will support ongoing research programs and candidate drugs in preparation.
In Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, the declared amounts are as follows:
04: 52,456 €
05: 54,195 €
06: 447,480 €
13: 636,409 €
83: 379,081 €
84: 162,913 €
The close of the Telethon 2025 leaves the image of a dense weekend, driven by local initiatives and massive public commitment. Donations remain open online on the dedicated site, to continue the momentum seen during these two days of national mobilization.
