Latest News

The series Emily in Paris produced by the American streaming platform Netflix is continuing its European expansion. After filming in several capitals and tourist destinations, the sixth season is set to include a stop in the Principality of Monaco. Filming is scheduled to start in May 2026.

The series Emily in Paris keeps broadening its settings. After Paris, Rome, Venice, and Saint-Tropez, the production is preparing for a new stage. The sixth season will incorporate the Principality of Monaco as well as Greece into its shooting schedule.

The information was revealed by the American magazine Variety. A confirmation followed during a panel held at PaleyFest on April 10, 2026, attended by the creator Darren Star and several cast members, including Lily Collins, Ashley Park, and Lucas Bravo.

Filming is scheduled from May 11 to September 30, 2026. The production confirms an extended schedule spread over several months and countries. Darren Star notes that the series follows “the storyline organically” but will “never permanently leave its Parisian base.” This statement reaffirms the series’ continued anchor in the French capital, despite branching out to other locations.

The fifth season, released online in December 2025, garnered 26.8 million views in eleven days. The series reached the top spot in 24 countries. These results led Netflix to announce a renewal in January 2026.

Monaco, a new backdrop for a still-secret storyline

The storyline elements remain confidential. No specific details have been shared about Monaco’s role in the plot. However, several contextual elements suggest certain directions. The world of casinos and that of Formula 1 fit within the aesthetic already developed by the series. Thus, Monaco joins a list of locations associated with a prominent tourist and cultural imagination.

The character Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, continues to evolve throughout Europe. The character’s trajectory is gradually moving away from Paris. The end of season 5 mostly set the action in Italy. The character Gabriel, portrayed by Lucas Bravo, invited Emily to join him in Greece after a breakup with Marcello.

This invitation serves as a starting point for the new season. The production confirms that filming will include Greece before a stop in Monaco. The main character’s journey thus follows a narrative continuity.

Other characters are expected to accompany this development. Ashley Park reprises her role as Mindy. Lucien Laviscount is cast as Alfie. Samuel Arnold and Bruno Gouery continue their participation to ensure continuity that appeals to viewers.

There are circulating hypotheses about the upcoming storylines. Mindy’s romantic relationships might evolve. The character finds herself between Nicolas, played by Paul Forman, and Alfie. No official elements confirm these possibilities. The production has not communicated specific information about these developments.

The series thus maintains a logic of geographical expansion. An article from the British site The Independent mentions extending the narrative framework on a European scale. Filming in Greece and in Monaco marks an additional step in this direction.

The audience success continues despite mixed reviews. Season 5 was among the most-watched content in 91 countries according to Netflix.

The release date for season 6 of Emily in Paris has not been announced. An end-of-2026 online release is considered, although the series is expected to hit the platform around the first quarter of 2027. Until then, filming will take place across several European destinations, with the Principality of Monaco now part of the main character’s journey. Certainly, early fans will remain attentive, hoping to encounter their idols on a street corner in the Principality.
