OGC Nice Handball will compete on the European stage next season. The European Handball Federation (EHF) officially announced, on Monday, the list of clubs competing in the 2026-2027 European League. OGC Nice is among the selected teams thanks to a Wild Card, alongside Dijon, Chambray and Saint-Amand.

The qualification rewards the end of the season for the Nice team. The victory achieved at Saint-Amand-les-Eaux (22-21) on the final day allowed OGC Nice Handball to finish in sixth place in the Ligue Butagaz Énergie. This ranking opened the possibility of submitting an invitation request to the EHF. The Côte d’Azur application was accepted.

OGC Nice Handball will thus return to continental competition for the second time in its history after participation in the EHF Cup during the 2019-2020 season. Like Chambray and Saint-Amand, the Nice team will begin in the second preliminary round. The matches will take place between September 3-11, in the first weeks of the season. The draw is scheduled for July 14 in Vienna, Austria.

France will have six representatives in the women’s European Cups in 2026-2027. Metz and Brest will participate in the Champions League. Dijon, defending champions in the European League, benefits from direct qualification for the group phase. Chambray, Saint-Amand and OGC Nice Handball will go through the preliminary rounds.
