The Alpes-Maritimes department honored students who obtained a “Very Good” grade on the brevet and baccalauréat 2026. A ceremony organized in the gardens of CADAM brought together nearly 3,000 people, with the presentation of the PASS Excellence 06 and a tribute to young people from Child Welfare Services.
A few days after the Nice municipality, the Alpes-Maritimes department rewarded middle school and high school students who achieved a “Very Good” grade on the National Brevet Diploma and the 2026 baccalauréat. The ceremony was held on Thursday, July 16 in the gardens of CADAM, in the presence of Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, Aurélien Loyson, inspector of the Academy and deputy academic director of National Education Services, Éric Ciotti, mayor of Nice and president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, as well as many vice-presidents of the Alpes-Maritimes department.
In total, 1,129 middle school students and 1,950 high school students, or 3,079 students, received this distinction. Figures quite different from those of last year. In 2025, 1,379 middle school students and 939 high school students obtained the Very Good grade on their respective exams, or nearly twice as many among high school students. The Alpes-Maritimes department wished to acknowledge the work accomplished throughout the school year through this ceremony.
Charles Ange Ginésy addressed a message to the award winners: “Today, we are not just congratulating numbers, we are celebrating the youth and excellence of the Alpes-Maritimes that pushes its limits. Middle school and high school students have transformed work into success and perseverance into excellence. Their journeys command admiration. This ceremony marks the transition to a new stage in the academic path of these young people who have completed their school year in the best possible way. Huge congratulations to the award winners, to their families, and to all the teachers who support them daily. At the Alpes-Maritimes Department, we are convinced of one thing: investing in our youth is building the future of our territory. That is why we support our middle school students every day, with the Excellence Pass which rewards their merit, the SMART Deal which opens them up to the worlds of AI and digital technology, and the 2028 Colleges Plan which modernizes their schools. Because training enlightened, responsible and bold citizens is preparing the Alpes-Maritimes of tomorrow.”
The PASS Excellence 06 presented to award winners
On this occasion, each rewarded student received the PASS Excellence 06, an electronic passport giving access to cultural and sports activities. The value of the program reaches 160 euros for holders of a “Very Good” grade on the brevet and 200 euros for bacheliers distinguished in the same way.
Nearly 3,000 people participated in this day organized in the gardens of CADAM. Photo spaces allowed families to capture this milestone, while several information booths were offered around education, health and the environment.
At the opening of this ceremony, the Alpes-Maritimes department also honored 133 young people supported by Child Welfare Services. Symbolic diplomas rewarded journeys marked by the achievement of many qualifications, including the brevet, the baccalauréat, the CAP, the professional baccalauréat, the general education certificate, a professional qualification or even a sports diploma. Recognition intended to acknowledge the perseverance and achievements of these young people supported by departmental services.
