The Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB takes place from Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, September 27, 2026. The race crosses 20 municipalities of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, with traffic restrictions, parking restrictions, and adaptations to the public transport network. Several sectors of Nice will also be affected starting this Friday.
Runners from the Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB are expected on the roads and trails of the Alpes-Maritimes until Sunday. From the peaks of Mercantour to the Promenade des Anglais, several events cross the metropolitan territory. Slowdowns and supervised road crossings are therefore to be expected.
In the Upper and Middle Country, disruptions will begin Friday, September 25 at 1 p.m. and may continue until Saturday evening. In the East Hills and coastal sectors, restrictions will extend from Saturday, September 26 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, September 27 at 4 p.m.
In Nice, the presence of runners will notably concern the Promenade des Anglais and the Quai des États-Unis. Participants are expected to pass from Friday afternoon until Sunday at 4 p.m.
Many municipalities affected by the race passage
At Auron and Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, the start of the 100M is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. Slowdowns and road crossings are expected in the town center and around Auron until 3 p.m. At Isola, 100M runners will pass between 5:30 p.m. and 11:15 p.m., with particular vigilance on municipal roads and RM 2205 at the level of Isola Village.
The route will then continue towards Roure, Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée, and Rimplas. At Roure, passage is expected from Friday 8:40 p.m. to Saturday 5:30 a.m. At Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée, a refreshment point will be set up with passage on RM 2205. Rimplas will be crossed between 12:15 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In the Vésubie, Valdeblore will be affected by the 100M from Friday 10:40 p.m. to Saturday 9:40 a.m. The route will notably cross the La Colmiane station and RM 2565. Venanson will also host a refreshment point. At Utelle, passages of the 100M and 100K will continue on Saturday from 4 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., notably on RM 32 and at the Pont du Cros d’Utelle.
The Paillon Valley sector will also be affected. Levens will host several events, with passages from Saturday morning to Sunday 2:30 a.m. Traffic will be disrupted in the village, where an entertainment and refreshment area is planned. Tourrette-Levens will be crossed until Sunday morning. Drap and La Trinité will then be affected by the passages of the 100M and 100K.
On the coast, Èze will host the start of the 50K on Saturday. Parking and access will be regulated around Èze Village and the Grande Corniche. At Villefranche-sur-Mer, all three formats 100M, 100K, and 50K will pass between Saturday 11 a.m. and Sunday 1:30 p.m. Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat will finally be affected Sunday morning by the start of the 20K.
At Roubion, the start of the 100K is set for Saturday at 8 a.m., with traffic and parking restrictions in the village. Ilonse, Bairols, Tournefort, and La Tour-sur-Tinée will also be crossed by the 100K route.
Traffic restrictions in several sectors of Nice
In Nice, several major roads are directly affected by the organization. The Promenade des Anglais, the Quai des États-Unis, the Port district, Boulevard Franck Pilatte, Avenue Jean Médecin, Place Masséna, and the surroundings of the Albert I Garden are among the affected sectors.
Vehicle traffic will be prohibited on Sunday, September 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Avenue du Mont Alban, between the outlet of Chemin du Vinaigrier and Rue Demontzey, except for exemptions for emergency services, rescue services, or event organization.
Speed will also be reduced to 30 km/h from Friday, September 25 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, September 27 at 5 p.m. on several roads in Mont Boron and the coast. Notably affected are the Mont Boron Forest Road, Boulevard du Mont Boron, Avenue Jean Lorrain, Boulevard Franck Pilatte, and Boulevard Stalingrad.
Alternating traffic will be implemented on Boulevard Franck Pilatte from Friday, September 25 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, September 27 at 3 p.m.
Pedestrian traffic will also be affected. The pedestrian crossing of Boulevard du Mont Boron may be closed between Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. On Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the coastal path will be reserved for runners on certain sectors between Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Parking and bike lanes also affected
Restrictions also affect parking. Several spaces have been reserved for organization vehicles since Monday, September 21, notably at the MIN. Other prohibitions concern Avenue Jean Lorrain, Boulevard Franck Pilatte, and various sectors of the Promenade des Anglais.
Two-wheeler parking is prohibited since Thursday, September 24 at 6 a.m. between number 4 of Avenue Jean Lorrain and the road providing access to the entrance of the Grotte du Lazaret. This measure will remain in effect until Sunday, September 27 at 6 p.m.
Cyclists will also need to adapt their journeys. From Friday, September 25 at 9:30 p.m. to Sunday, September 27 at 1 p.m., the bike path on the south sidewalk will be prohibited for users in both directions on a section of Quai des États-Unis, Quai Rauba Capeù, and Quai Lunel. A dedicated pathway for runners will be marked in this area.
Finally, the Lignes d’Azur network will be adapted from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September. Route modifications, schedule changes, terminal shifts, and stop service adjustments are planned. Lines 19 and 80 will notably be affected by these changes.
Residents and motorists are therefore invited to plan their journeys in advance during the weekend of the Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB, particularly in the sectors of Mont Boron, the Port, the Promenade des Anglais, and the coast up to Villefranche-sur-Mer.
