Event: the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) France is back in Nice

The best players in the world will face off at the 2026 edition of the most prestigious fighting video game competition in the world. Legendary matches will shake Nice with eight official tournaments, including Tekken 8, Guilty Gear -Strive- and Street Fighter 6. Founded in 2002, this event can bring together up to 10,000 competitors. The Côte d’Azur city has already hosted the 2025 edition, with more than sixty-five countries represented and three European records broken. By reservation, prices range from 49 to 129 euros.

Theater: « PROM 14 », chronicle on the trial of the July 14 attack

For the tenth anniversary of the attack on the Promenade des Anglais, the free verse poems by Thierry Vimal have been adapted and staged by Jonathan Gensburger. Written by a wounded heart and witness to the counterterrorism trial, these words form a regular chronicle of the hearings held in Paris between September and December 2022.

Excerpts from this tragic, hard-hitting and often ironic narrative will be performed on stage by Julien Storini, accompanied by an eclectic soundtrack. The audience will discover certain aspects of the hearing, the investigation and the attack, with a range of characters. This performance is not recommended for children under 15. By reservation, prices range from 12 to 18 euros.

Music: a tribute to Stéphane Benguigi

Thirty-three musicians will be on stage to honor the memory of a figure from the Nice scene, who passed away in September 2024. Organized by Compagnie La Jajala, this Pop Rock evening will begin with Luvely Rita, a band reproducing in its own way the melodies of the Evely Brothers, The Beatles or The Hollies. Les Araignées will also take the stage with their rock compositions in French. It was the first band that Stéphane Benguigi joined during his adolescence. The evening will continue with the performance of personal compositions by the native of Bastia, by his singer and musician friends. The entrance fee starts at 10 euros.

The funds collected will be dedicated to APEDV Regarddons (Association of Parents of Visually Impaired Children of Alpes-Maritimes and health disorders). This organization develops educational, artistic, cultural and inclusive actions designed to promote the independence and confidence of children and young people with disabilities or health problems.

Rugby: Nice hosts Nevers at the Marcel-Volot stadium

After two weeks of break, Nissa Rugby returns to Pro D2 with the home match against Nevers. Fourteenth after a difficult start to the season, the Nice team must take advantage of this home appointment to get back on track, while being wary of a Nivernaise team whose last place does not necessarily reflect the level of play.

Ice hockey: gala match for the Nice Eagles against Angers

Event: the Departmental Day of Underwater Activities

This day is intended to raise awareness about the transformation of underwater activities into tools for well-being and medical prevention. In collaboration with the CHU de Nice, the CODEP 06 and the association SOPHYFIA organize several interventions around the challenges of the sea, health and self-improvement.

Conferences and round tables will welcome throughout the day CNRS scientists and high-level athletes, such as the world champion of deep apnea Guillaume NERY. This edition will be marked by the presence of prominent figures in the history of underwater exploration and Cinema, such as Jean-Marc Barr, figure of the film The Big Blue. Artist Valérie FERRETI, professional photographer Grégory LECOEUR and passionate diver Gilles COCCELLATO will also present their photographs in an exhibition.

Furthermore, a tribute will be paid to apneist Loïc Leferme, holder of multiple world records in No-Limit. Registration is mandatory.
