Blue Ocean Club has named LA DATCHA its Charter Yacht of the Year 2026, after the 77-metre Damen Yachting SeaXplorer took the Best Charter Yacht 70m+ category in this year’s awards.
Delivered in 2020, LA DATCHA was built as a SeaXplorer 77 — an expedition yacht designed to leave the familiar cruising grounds without giving up the comfort and service of a world-class private yacht. Her Ice Class construction and IMO Polar Code engineering sit alongside a certified helicopter deck, underwater exploration equipment and extended autonomy, while her guest areas, interiors and wellness facilities keep the experience resort-like.
That combination is what carried the title. She was chosen from five finalists in the 70m+ class, then took the overall distinction — awarded for the breadth and coherence of the experience a yacht can offer, not for a specification sheet.
The Blue Ocean Club Yacht Awards are an annual editorial assessment of the world’s charter fleet. Categories recognise yachts for the quality, relevance and versatility of the experience they can offer charter guests; five finalists are selected in each category, and the category winners are then considered for the overall title.
For anyone weighing a charter that goes further than the usual Mediterranean or Caribbean week, LA DATCHA is the clearest current answer: an expedition platform and a private resort inside the same journey.
