The French teams won several world titles at the Skydiving World Championships held in Eloy, Arizona, United States. Among the rewarded athletes are two representatives from the territory: Adrien Gallot, licensed with the Nice Parachute Circle, and Tom Mattoni, member of the Monaco Parachute Team. The first won bronze in freestyle, while the second became world champion in four-way open relative work.

The French delegation won five gold medals and one bronze medal in the disciplines of relative work, artistic events and canopy piloting. Of the 22 French competitors entered, 19 returned with at least one award.

Two athletes from the Alpes-Maritimes and the Principality notably participated in this success. Adrien Gallot, licensed with the Nice Parachute Circle and based in Tourrette-Levens, won the bronze medal in freestyle with his partner Laurie Lubbé.

Tom Mattoni for his part won the world title in four-way open relative work. Licensed with the Monaco Parachute Team and based in the Principality, the skydiver was teamed with Damien Gouriou, Clémentine Le Bohec, Alban Rumolo and camera flyer Cameron Malie. The French team thus won the event and its trophy, the Excalibur.

Tom Mattoni wins the world title, Adrien Gallot takes the podium

Tom Mattoni’s victory completes an already impressive record. The 22-year-old Monaco resident now has a new world title to his credit. This victory also represents a reward for the Monaco Parachute Team, which has supported the athlete since his beginnings.

In freestyle, Adrien Gallot also contributed to French results. This discipline, often presented as a “dance of the sky”, combines acrobatics and freefly figures. Each performance is filmed by a camera flyer and evaluated by judges, who notably take into account the difficulty of the figures, their execution and the quality of the images.

Beyond these two performances, French results are based on collective work involving athletes, coaches, supervisors, clubs, families and partners. The French Parachuting Federation notably highlighted the role of this support in preparing athletes and their progression at the international level.

The medals of Adrien Gallot and Tom Mattoni thus illustrate the presence of clubs from the Alpes-Maritimes and Monaco in international skydiving competitions.
