Yesterday, the National Congress was inaugurated under the presidency of Joëlle Martinaux, its brand-new president. The work will continue today and is expected to conclude in the evening.
Each year, the UNCCAS congress brings together over 1,000 participants: local elected officials, social action professionals, institutional, associative or private partners.
A unique feature of this 2014 edition: it gathers former and new deputy mayors for social affairs to discuss the role of local public social action, its resources, and its limitations. In the background of these discussions: growing social needs, constrained budgets, and a rapidly changing territorial landscape.
Attendees will have the opportunity to debate current issues, such as Seniors in the community; For a city accessible to all; Territorial reform, and what about local social action?; The roles of the CCAS at the heart of sustainable social development; Men – women: are we all equal? Innovate: for what purpose and how?
This event will also feature the award ceremony of the 11th local social innovation prize.
