The chain of solidarity could not do without this symbolic link: that of the Cathedral of its city!
It was at the Nice prefecture that a check for 11,311 euros was handed over to the Fondation de France to aid the victims of July 14.
“Music soothes the heart and calms the mind…” declared Juliette Méadel, Secretary of State for Victim Assistance, during her speech.
Accompanied by Adolphe Colrat, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, they came to “thank” the Sainte-Réparate Cathedral, represented by Father Michel Angella and Christian Meillassoux, correspondent for the Fondation de France, for their initiative.
Indeed, this summer, the Sainte-Réparate Cathedral, with the help of the perfumer Fragonard from Grasse, organized a major concert to aid the victims of the July 14 attack.
For this, they called upon the Monte-Carlo Soloists Orchestra, who performed “The Most Beautiful Film Music” on August 1. The event brought together 550 people and raised the sum of 11,311 euros.
Christian Meillassoux explained that the entirety of this sum will be distributed to the victims to provide “psychological support to those in shock, legal aid for those who have not received compensation, and social assistance for those who have lost their income.”
During the check presentation, Juliette Méadel wanted to remind everyone that this was “an important spirit of solidarity,” since it is “the solidarity of the Republic and of everyone.”
