A collaborative garden for Trachel Street!

Latest News

In anticipation of the renovations that will take place in the Trachel/Vernier neighborhood, the town hall has asked the Del’Art association to envision the new square on Trachel Street.

A few months ago, the town hall reached out to the Del’Art association to work on the renovation of the square on Trachel Street. The association thought big. It contacted five artists to participate in this initiative and create something “extraordinary.”

In the premises of “La Ruche” (the beehive) on Trachel Street, neighborhood residents and artists gathered to imagine their future “atypical garden.” “We don’t want a garden similar to what we already know; we want something out of the ordinary!” exclaimed one of the artists working on this project.

That’s when they had the idea to ask neighborhood residents to also participate in the garden’s renovation. “The idea is to personalize the place. Everyone will be able to leave their mark.”

For example, gathered in the large room, artists and residents are considering building a birdhouse in the garden itself. “Those who want can imagine and build a birdhouse, and then we will share them before installing them.”

The goal is for everyone to be able to participate in this project, to make it a familiar place and, above all, a unique spot in its kind in Nice. It’s also a way to improve the reputation of this neighborhood, which hasn’t always been easy.

“A project that will make people envious!” But for now, even though this initiative comes from the town hall, it still hasn’t given a carte blanche to the artists and residents.

That doesn’t prevent both young and old from expressing their creativity.
