In the context of promoting classical music in the department, Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, and Mrs. Anny Courtade, President of the Regional Orchestra of Cannes Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur, signed a partnership agreement, in the presence of Mr. Bernard Brochand, Deputy – Mayor of Cannes, and Philippe Bender, Artistic Director and Permanent Conductor of the Regional Orchestra of Cannes.
As part of this partnership, it is planned that more than 15 concerts by the Cannes Regional Orchestra will be scheduled in the towns of Alpes-Maritimes in agreement with the General Council.
Furthermore, the orchestra will participate in “C’est Pas Classique!” organized by the General Council during the last quarter of 2013.
The Orchestra of Cannes will also have an educational mission with the aim of increasing young people’s awareness of musical education and the art of classical music.
Since the start of the 2012-2013 school year, the General Council has been offering middle schools in the department a catalog of educational action offers that allows teachers to choose activities in the fields of culture, sports, and the environment.
