More than six months after Loana’s death in Nice, the prosecutor’s office revealed the conclusions of the forensic medical summary. The death of the former “Loft Story” winner, which occurred on March 25, 2026 at the age of 48, is classified as “multifactorial”.

The causes of Loana‘s death are now known. The prosecutor of the Republic of Nice, Damien Martinelli, has communicated new information concerning the results of the examinations carried out after the discovery of the body of Cannois Loana Petrucciani in her apartment in Nice.

The forensic medical summary concludes with “a multifactorial death, involving chronic consumption of toxic substances (alcohol, drugs), an acute toxic concentration of sedative medications and a medical metabolic failure on a very precarious pre-existing condition.”

Loana’s death does not therefore rest on a single cause. Several medical and toxicological factors were retained in the conclusions communicated by the Nice prosecutor’s office.

Toxicological analyses clarify the causes of Loana’s death

Chronic consumption of alcohol and drugs constitutes one of the elements retained by the forensic pathologists. The summary also mentions an “acute toxic concentration of sedative medications.”

This conclusion means that sedative medications were present in the body at a concentration considered toxic. However, the information communicated by the prosecutor’s office does not allow for determining the exact circumstances of their ingestion or establishing any intent.

A third factor was identified with a “medical metabolic failure on a very precarious pre-existing condition.” Loana’s previous state of health was therefore also taken into account in the forensic medical analysis.

These various elements explain the notion of “multifactorial death” retained in the summary. Forensic medicine does not designate alcohol, drugs, medications or metabolic failure as a single cause. It is their combination, on an already weakened body, that is retained.

The initial conclusions of the autopsy, communicated on March 31, had not allowed the cause of death to be immediately established. A superficial wound to the scalp as well as small bruises on the back, lower back and buttocks had been noted. These injuries were consistent with a fall to the ground.

No fractures, no signs of strangulation, no traces of grabbing or violent blows were however observed. The involvement of a third party had also been ruled out.

Loana’s body was discovered by firefighters on March 25, 2026, around 6 p.m. Authorities at the time estimated that death had occurred several days earlier. Loana’s dog, Titi, was also found dead in the apartment.

The new conclusions provided by the prosecutor’s office now allow clarification of the medical and toxicological causes of this death. The fall considered after the discovery of the body may explain some of the injuries observed during the autopsy, but is not retained as the cause of death.

The involvement of another person is not retained either. The examinations carried out after death did not reveal any element to conclude that there were fatal injuries.

Six months after Loana’s death in Nice, the additional analyses made it possible to establish a set of factors that led to her death. At age 48, the former “Loft Story” winner died in a context that had followed a large part of her career after reality television.
