On Saturday, October 9, a food drive took place at Carrefour TNL. The clientele was generous, and the association collected hundreds of kilos of essential goods.
“We see it every day in our delegations, work no longer protects from poverty. Today, three new categories of beneficiaries who resort to social aid are added to the homeless: young people, the elderly, and the working poor.”
Supporting people who are facing difficulties: this is the mission undertaken by the Red Cross.
An abundant harvest!
Volunteers from the association collect essential goods to redistribute them. The aim is to meet the basic needs of beneficiaries, such as food and clothing. Donations also help supply social grocery stores.
On Saturday, October 9, in the Carrefour Nice TNL shopping center, Red Cross volunteers distributed flyers with a list of products that customers could buy and donate to the association.
During this collection, donors were particularly generous, with some even offering entire carts of food and hygiene products.
From rice and pasta to shower gel or toothbrushes: nearly 900 kg of food and first aid products were received by the Red Cross on Saturday, October 9, at Carrefour TNL.
Solidarity is not waning! Despite the health crisis in Nice and nationally, donations have increased.
The Red Cross and its volunteers look forward to seeing you at the next collection event organized by the Social Pole of the Local Unit of Nice at the beginning of next year at the TNL Shopping Center Carrefour, subject to permissions.
