This Tuesday, September 28, at 9 a.m., on the road on the moyenne corniche 6007 between Villefranche-sur-Mer and Eze, a tragic accident took place. A Monaco police commander was riding a motorcycle on the road when he was hit head-on by a car.
The driver was operating a car without a license, and according to the initial findings of the investigation, the cause of the collision was attributed to a turn that he took too widely, leaving no chance for the motorcyclist. A man on a scooter who was behind him also could not avoid the collision.
The firefighters arrived at the scene of the tragedy a few minutes after the accident, but the Monaco police commander could not be resuscitated.
The driver of the car without a license, in shock, was transported to the emergency room along with the man on the scooter who was following him.
With the deployment of the gendarmes and emergency services, traffic was significantly disrupted for a long time, and several trains were also canceled.
