A new President at the National Housing Agency

Latest News

Funded by budget and tax resources (an intervention budget of nearly €600 million), ANAH provides a territorial response to the challenges of private housing. Each year, it contributes to the improvement of some 130,000 private residences more than fifteen years old.

About a third of these residences belong to owner-occupiers with low incomes. The rest of the subsidies benefit rental housing: the majority of the owners commit to complying with rules on rent and occupancy that ensure the social purpose of the aid. ANAH specifically focuses on sustainable and solidarity-based housing.

What actions are hidden behind these words?

It involves developing a quality social offering in the private rental sector, improving the energy efficiency of housing, and adapting the stock to the needs of age and disability.

For examples, nearly 140,000 residences were improved or entered into agreements with tax aids in 2007, with the intervention of ANAH. Additionally, 15,092 homes at social or very social rents were also supported.

In addition to his recent appointment, Marc-Philippe Daubresse has been tasked by Jean-Louis Borloo (MEEDDAT) with supporting the implementation of the Grenelle de l’environnement in the existing housing stock.

Former president of the National Housing Council (CNH), Mayor of Lambersart (29,000 inhabitants) and a specialist in urban planning, Marc-Philippe Daubresse will also follow the housing component of the recovery plan (€1.8 billion).

ANAH’s action will be reinforced in 2009 and 2010, by a special fund of €200 million announced by the President of the Republic, as part of the recovery plan.
