As his concert approaches, Tylan is working on the finishing touches of his album “Maturity Demands” with his arranger Grégory Chabasse. The man is no beginner as he is also the arranger for Tylan’s idol: Florent Pagny. “The universe of this album is based on a pop/rock background subtly supported by electro accents,” proudly claims the singer. Earrings, white shirt, and styled hair… In terms of look, Tylan leans more towards the “pop” side than the “rock” side of his songs. “The Next Moment” and “That Man” are the first excerpts from the album. He explains that these texts reflect emotions felt, namely quite a bit of love. And what about his rebellious side? “People say I’m a tortured rebel in a bunker. When I was younger, I wasn’t afraid to speak my mind. I could show up at a concert and say: I’m not playing. I had a head this big (he shows the size with his hands)! But I’ve calmed down. Hence the name of the album…”
On stage, Tylan is accompanied by four musicians: a drummer, two guitarists, and a bassist. “I play the guitar, but I don’t claim to be a musician. I didn’t study music theory, I’m self-taught.”
Tylan is not new to concerts. He has been singing for about fifteen years now: “The beginnings weren’t easy. I did dances all over France and stopped because the formatting and rhythm were too exhausting. Plus, that’s not what I dreamed of when I was 10.” At 10, Tylan lived next to the Nikaia Palace and already dreamed of becoming a great singer. At 34, he has kept the same desires. “Singing at the Olympia is my fantasy. I don’t know if I’ll make it, but I’m trying to give myself the means.” The Niçois is on the right track: he hopes that Warner’s recent approach will result in a contract. Until then, Tylan will continue to sing no matter what.
