A remarkable new site in the Alpes-Maritimes was chosen this Monday by the Mission Patrimoine 2021: the troglodyte Fortress of Aiglun. This is a chance for the site, which will receive funding for restoration.
The mission thus selected the troglodyte Fortress of Aiglun, which can now be restored. The project’s cost is estimated at 426,000 euros. However, we do not yet know how much the monument will receive, as the amount granted will depend on the proceeds from the heritage lottery tickets to be offered next December.
For comparison, in previous years, the average awarded for these so-called “network” projects was 188,000 euros. This is quite a boost for these sites in the azure region located in municipalities that cannot fund all the works on their own.
